WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
Experience Rome with one of the greatest living plein air painters! Participants will follow Daniel and paint alongside him in Rome: from the Forum, the Tiber River, the Colosseum, Trastevere, to the piazzas and churches. Paint during peak daylight hours throughout Rome followed by in studio critiques with Daniel. This workshop aims to give students a greater understanding of oil painting plein air techniques, with the unique opportunity to see one of the world’s greatest painters in action!
We are launching The 10 Day and The 5 Day painting workshops.We offer these workshop options for those participants with limited vacation time off. Both options are supplemented by group tours to museums, churches and historical sites. Each day is spent making art, socializing with your fellow artists and enjoying the cultural treasures of Rome.
SCHEDULE FOR THE 10 DAY WORKSHOP ONLY (MAY 18 - 31, 2025)
On Sunday, May 18 at 1 PM there will be a brief orientation and group meeting to get acquainted. Week one (five days painting), begins on Monday May 19 until friday May 23. No classes will be held Saturday 24 and Sunday 25. Week two (five days painting), starts again on Monday May 26 to Friday May 30. On Saturday May 31 will be the last day for a final critique, packing paintings, and a group dinner at night. Each day will be a full experience from morning to night!

DANIEL SPRICK
Contemporary realist painter Daniel Sprick produces meticulously executed portraits and figurative compositions whose muted palettes and sense of stillness encourage slow contemplation. His paintings feature a range of subjects, from still lifes of flowers and unlikely assortments of objects to interiors and urban and pastoral scenes. A diverse range of men, women, and youth populate his portraits and figurative works; taken together, they reflect a rich and encompassing view of humanity. “I’m interested in all walks of life, everyone,” the artist once explained about his choice of subjects. “Some that may be considered conventionally beautiful and others that may not, and everyone in between.” In his still lifes, which recall those of the Dutch and Flemish traditions, Sprick brings together the sumptuous—including silver tableware and starched white tablecloths and the mundane, such as tin cans and old bottles, in elegant, harmoniously balanced arrangements.

TANNER STEED
Tanner was born in Littleton Colorado and since childhood, drawing offered a world with infinite possibilities and creative joy for him. Tanner’s artistic journey is a symphony of talent and dedication. He paints every day with an overwhelming passion to represent the unique world that he sees. His paintings resonate with a profound sensitivity, capturing the human form with a deft hand and an acute eye for detail, but with a tasteful ability to reduce a scene into its poetic essence. From still life, landscape, to portraiture, Steed is influenced by contemporary and old masters alike such as Daniel Sprick and Richard Schmid, to tJules Bastien - Lapage. He has studied at the Art Students League of Denver, and has a current apprenticeship with contemporary master artist Daniel Sprick. Tanner is an award winning artist that paints for gallery exhibitions and for commissioned work. With Reverence for tradition and an unquenchable passion for his craft, Steed’s Oeuvre is a testament to the enduring power of art of representation.
